US President Obama’s message to the students of the USA

leave a comment »

US President Obama’s address to the students of the USA this morning was an inspirational gee-up for American kids, but I believe there is much in it for students in any country.
He spoke of the responsibility of the various stakeholders: himself and government, schools, teachers and principals, parents, and especially of students.
He encouraged students to look beyond excuses, and to attend to class (and life) with a positive attitude.

Curiously, the American right seemed to have worked itself into a lather over this speech before it was delivered, and some commentators will look a bit silly now. This was excellent stuff, and surely no one would take issue with the values he was propounding.

This link will take you to the White House website page devoted to today’s speech.
